Where a lonely river churns the ocean, and a bathtub fills with rain, there unfolds the unsettling story of Heron Leg. It begins with the sound of a spinning wheel, shuddering as it turns. In the same room, a child is born with a strange deformity. What follows is a tale of incest, jealousy and revenge. The grown child, on the cusp of manhood, succumbs to thoughts one should never abide, and when he is rejected, the scenery around him begs an abominable act. This second recording by Fen invokes the haunting power of British Columbia’s coast, and marks the beginning of the band’s collaboration with painter Jason Froese.
